WHO IS REMZİ KAZMAZ

Born in Rize in 1954, Remzi Kazmaz is the son of Mehmet Efendi, who worked at the Zihni Derin Tea Factory, and Meryem, a woman from the Black Sea region. He is married and has three children. Due to his revolutionary spirit, Kazmaz endured the torture chambers of 12 September, an experience that led him to decide to become a lawyer. He graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law and has been practising law for over 40 years.

He is also a mediator, writer, film director and environmental activist. He became involved in politics through the youth wing of the CHP, playing an active role during the Ecevit era, serving as district chairman in Avcılar and holding the position of city council chairman.

CAREER

LAWYER

He has been fighting legal battles for many years. He has been a member of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Disciplinary Committee and served as vice-president and managing solicitor at Çaykur Rizespor for 20 years. He is known as the solicitor for the Gazi Massacre and the rivers.

WRITER

He has written books and articles on the tea industry, the history of Rizespor, and environmental issues. He has over seven publications to his name.

DIRECTOR

He has depicted the dirty tricks in the tea industry and the Black Sea in works such as the documentary "Tea from the Company". He also has documentaries about Bodrum and ancient cities.

ACTIVIST

Founder of the Brotherhood of Rivers Platform and Tülov (Turkish Secular Foundation). Fights against hydroelectric power plants, wind farms and the destruction of nature. Acts as a lawyer for villagers in regions such as Bodrum and Çeşme.
